It’s a sweet one this week — literally. Momma Ashley and Whitney snagged a shared second place at the North Haven Gardens Pie Contest with Momma’s bourbon pecan pie, but Whitney still can’t get over the fact that the crack pie vanished off the table and didn’t place in the top three. Between melted praline topping, judging quirks, and eavesdropping on the crowd, you’ll feel like you were right there with them
Meanwhile, Courtney had her own bake-off — three dozen brownies for the school carnival that somehow took five trips to the store. From forgetting sugar to asking if vanilla is “really vital,” it’s a story only Courtney could tell. And in true Momma Ashley fashion, she’s already turning pie day into a business pitch: cooking classes with North Haven Garden’s herbs and veggies.
