As you know, here at Hey Sis, Eat This we look for any excuse to celebrate, especially family! But when it comes to sisters, we like to go all out! The first Sunday of each August is National Sisters Day which for 2023 is August 6th.

This is what I admire most about Whitney! Her ability to just be herself and not give (in her words) “two F’s” what other people think. The amount of time I have spent worried about what other people think of me, has hindered me in so many ways. There are times I have spent so much time trying to be the “right” person for other people that I completely lost myself. In many ways, life has been a constant struggle for me to “be my true self” out of fear that the real me is too weird, too dark or just too much for others around me. Whitney was born with the ability to be herself! This attitude of not caring what others think or trying to change herself for others has allowed her a freedom in herself that I often fear I will never fully know. I may be the younger sister but I'm fiercely protective of Courtney. So much so that it has gotten me into a little bit of trouble before.
