The Ginarita

Celebrity Chef Gina Clarke's version of a margarita is just as famous as her clientele...

The Ginarita

Why it's on our list

Next to our Dirty Sis Martini a margarita is our favorite cocktail. Gina Clarke, founder of Malibu Seaside Chef, has created one of the most tasty margs we've ever sipped. What makes it so unique and refreshing is the TEXAS Ruby Red grapefruits and fresh passion fruit. We despise sweet and sour mix and always opt for fresh lime juice when we make our signature margarita and this recipe offers the perfect balance of sweet and sour from the fresh fruits!

Gina is so beloved in the SoCal community for her amazing food and fun personality so much so that you can order the Ginarita at celebrity hotspot Nobu Malibu.

Just like her dishes, this marg has evolved over the years so we've included both versions!

The New Ginarita

  • 1 Whole passion fruit

  • 1 ruby red grapefruit squeezed (must be Ruby Red!)

  • 1 Lime squeezed

  • 1 to 2 Shots of tequila, Depends on your level of fun.

  • Thin wine glass (Gina insists on it being thin)

Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Scoop out the flesh of the passion fruit into the shaker along with the grapefruit juice, lime juice, and tequila. Shake it like a shake weight and pour into a thin wine glass

The Nobu Ginarita

  • 1 shot of Don Julio

  • 2 fresh limes squeezed

  • Splash of Grand Marnier

  • Splash of Pineapple juice

  • Thin wine glass (Gina insists on it being thin)

Add ice to a cocktail shaker plus all ingredients. Shake it like a polaroid picture. Serve in a wine glass.

*You can always spice both drinks with jalapenos or serrano chili!

Serve it up!

Try them both and report back!! Send us a note!
