Pop's Manly Reel Tune-A-Fishy Noodley Casserole

Why it's on our list

Many of our guests have recounted having tuna noodle casserole for dinner growing up but few have claimed it as their favorite dish until we had on siblings Sophie & Brandon Pierce. Sophie made a vow on Episode 32 saying "I'd love to bring the casserole back because they were wonderful and must have been a perfect thing to feed your family. You're getting in all kinds of courses into one meal. Easy! We got to bring it back!"

Sophie said that now a days Momma June has retired her 9x13 casserole dish and that her Dad has taken those childhood recipes and revamped them. So introducing Pop's Manly Reel Tune-A-Fishy Noodley Casserole!


  • 12 oz egg noodles

  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon butter

  • 1 small onion chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves minced

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup with 1 can of milk

  • 1 cup grated cheese

  • 2 cans of tuna (IN OIL)

  • 1/2 cup Best Foods or Helman's Mayo

  • Optional: Frozen peas


Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or add nonstick spray to a 9x13 casserole dish.

Cook 12 Oz. egg noodles and add to 9x13 pan.

In a large saute pan heat oil and butter on medium. Add onion and garlic. Saute till onions are translucent. Add can cream of chicken soup and refill the empty can with milk. Stir to combine and simmer for a few minutes. Add grated cheese, add salt and pepper to taste and stir. Add tuna to mixture followed by the mayo. Optional: add frozen peas at this point.

Pour mixture over noodles. Sprinkle with more grated cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
