Momma Ashley has been making these spicy pecans forever as they are easy and a true crowd-pleaser.
Momma Ashley's Spicy Pecans
Why it's on our list
On the first episode of Hey Sis, Eat This, Courtney jokes that Momma Ashley is a nut! Whitney says that if Momma was a nut, she'd be her legendary spicy pecans! This quick and easy recipe goes great on salads but is a wonderful snack to have on hand at any party from football to an elegant dinner.
Another reason we love them is that you can make a big batch and put it in the freezer!

Ingredients
2 large egg whites
1 ½ teaspoons salt
3/4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons smoked paprika
1 ½ teaspoons cayenne pepper (if you like it spicy add an extra ½ - 1 teaspoon more)
4 ½ cups pecan halves
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and cooled
The Good Part
Don't forget to read the whole thing, as we often forget that part, thankfully this one is memorized.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
Beat egg whites with salt till foamy (don't beat till stiff peaks)
Add sugar, Worcestershire, paprika and cayenne
Fold in pecans and melted butter
Spread pecan mixture onto a baking sheet in one layer (use aluminum foil or parchment on the sheet for easy clean up)
Bake 30-40 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
Remove from oven and let cool (you might be tempted to try immediately. DON'T, you WILL burn your mouth off)
Store in an airtight container or a ziplock bag in the freezer and take out as needed.
Serve it up!
