Why it's on our list


In 2004, Courtney, Whitney and Momma Ashley took the most fabulous trip to Italy where they made their way from Tuscany to the Amalfi Coast. It was Positano where they first experienced Limoncello served as an after dinner spirit, very chilled and in a tiny glass. The sweet liqueur was the perfect end to a delicious Italian meal where they learned that this potent sweet drink is served after meals as a digestive. Although the Ashley women went on to have terrible heartburn after most meals in Italy, they attribute that more to the the heavy vacation eating and drinking as opposed the the delicious Limoncello.


Almost 20 years later, Limoncello is everywhere! It's making its way from a medicinal alcohol to desserts, spritz's and more. If you've seen the "Limoncello Spritz" trend on social media, it looks beautiful and yummy but we've found that it's way too sweet for us savory sisters. So we have taken the liberty of making it our own as we like to do so you're not bombarded by sweetness when you sip! This version is light, refreshing and not to mention quite beautiful. SALUTI!!


Ingredients

Makes one individual cocktail for a large wine glass

  • Ice

  • 4 ounces cold Prosecco

  • 1/2 - 1 ounce very cold Limoncello (we keep ours in the freezer)

  • 2 ounces soda water

  • Lemon wheel and mint for garnishing, optional

Directions:


Fill wine glass full of ice. Add prosecco, limoncello, and soda water. Stir to combine. To garnish, cut a little groove in each lemon slice so it can be placed on the edge of each glass. Top with a sprig of mint.


 

Serve it up!
