The Hey Sis Bloody Mary

Next to the signature Dirty Sis Martini, our Bloody Mary is another go to cocktail!

The Hey Sis Bloody Mary

Why it's on our list

Momma Ashley always had a Sam's Club flat of V8 in the pantry so we started making Virgin Mary's since we were kids. Around high school we started to add vodka. Over the years we have perfected this recipe and often mix up batches for brunch with the girls, game days, or while cooking. Some people think "BM's" are strictly reserved for the morning but we've been known to enjoy them at any time of day!

We stand firm on no horseradish in our Bloody. Our key ingredient is a lot of Worcestershire! You want the mix to be the color of steak sauce. Some recipes call for lemon while some call for lime, we like both. One of our favorite things about this drink is that it comes with a snack. What accoutrements you choose to include is what makes this beverage your own. Some of our go to's include celery, olives, pickles but you can always get crazy and add a pickled okra, a boiled shrimp, or Whitney's favorite a Slim Jim.

Ingredients

Makes one individual cocktail for a tall glass! You'll have a little extra mix.

  • Ice

  • One 5.5 ounce can of V8 (don't get low sodium)

  • 3+ tablespoons of Worcestershire (we like a lot! You want to make the V8 turn dark red)

  • 1/2 a teaspoon of celery salt

  • 1/2 a teaspoon of Lawry's seasoning salt

  • 1/2 of a lime

  • 1/2 of a lemon

  • 2-3 dashes of Tabasco (or more if you want it spicy)

  • 2 ounces of vodka

Directions:

Fill a tall glass with ice. Add all ingredients and stir to combine. Adjust seasonings as preferred.

Serve it up!
