The Ashley Family Margarita

Updated: Aug 25

These margs should come with a CAUTION SIGN! They go down easy but pack a punch!

The Ashley Family Margarita

Why it's on our list

We have childhood memories of Daddy Ashley making batches of these suckers and the next thing we knew, grown ups were dancing to Fine Young Cannibals! And as we got older and began making them ourselves, they’ve actually been banned from certain households by people who thought they induced to much chaos. Don’t say we didn't warn ya!

Some may say we have a drinking problem, but we think we are economical!

COCKTAILS

The Ashley Family Margarita

Ingredients for

  • 1 cup Tequila Blanco

  • 1 cup Fresh Lime Juice

  • 1/2 cup Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec

  • 1/4 of orange juice

  • Salt for the rim (Optional)

The Good Part

  • Pour ingredients into a pitcher and stir

  • Pour over ice or shake in a martini shaker and pour

  • If these are too sour for you then you can add a bit of agave or simple syrup but we like them tart

  • If these are too strong for you add a bit of water

Make it Peachy

We're huge fans of The Peach Truck and love ordering their delish Georgia peaches for Summer. This puree takes our marg to the next level when it comes to flavor and makes for a gorgeous drink. All you need is 4 ripe peaches!

  • Bring a stock pot of water to boil

  • Place peaches in the boiling water for 30 seconds

  • Immediately transfer to ice bath

  • Once cool enough to handle, peel away the skin from the peaches. They should come right off!

  • Cut in half to remove the pit

  • Throw into your blender and puree for 30-45 seconds, you want this to be super smooth

  • Add 2 tablespoons (more or less to your liking) to The Ashley Family Marg and stir

  • Garnish with a peach slice and a lime wedge

  • Sit back and sip on Summer!
