Momma Janice learned this epic meatball recipe from her Italian mother in law. The DiRomualdo's have been known to eat this communal style with everyone eating from the same big bowl in the middle of the table. These versatile meatballs can be served by themselves, with pasta or as a meatball sandwich. It's also been said it's delish as leftovers on buttered toast.
1/3 lb ground beef
1/3 lb ground pork
1/3 lb ground veal
1/4 c Italian breadcrumbs
1/4 c grated reggiano
1 beaten egg
2 TBSP chopped parsley
Salt and pepper
In a medium large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
Heat 1/4 of olive oil in a frying pan
Form mixture into tennis or golf size balls and fry in olive oil.
Serve with your favorite tomato sauce or buttered toast.
